You need to exfoliate your lips regularly in order to avoid flakiness and dryness. It is not just enough to moisturize the lips daily, because eventually the skin builds up and your lips start to peel off and it just doesn’t look right. Exfoliating your lips with a scrub is the only way to get rid of dead skin and expose an even more supple and soft layer of skin. It also allows for your lip ointments to really penetrate the skin and keep your lips hydrated when applied.
Now we all love a good beauty product, but making a lip scrub is not rocket science. Often times it takes literally two ingredients to make one. Not to mention these are items you can easily find at home, you don’t necessarily have to go shopping for ingredients. Another huge advantage of making your lip scrub at home is that you know exactly what product you are applying to your lips, no chemicals involved, just organic products from your kitchen.
