Are there any risks?

aloe vera

Aloe Vera is considered safe when applied topically. However, there’s never any harm in doing a patch test first before applying the whole product to your face.

For a patch test you basically apply a little bit on your arm or a part of your neck. Then you have to wait for at least a day to see if there’s going to be any reactions or not. you don’t notice any reaction, rashes or redness, swelling at all in the area where you applied the facemask then you can go ahead and apply it all over your face.

You should avoid applying it over large open wounds or if you have a severe burn. It’s good for sun screen but nothing too severe, like an actual burn from fire.

Also pay attention to the other ingredients you mix in your face mask to make sure they are not items you react to. I would advise mixing just turmeric and water to be sure you don’t react to it. Because when you mix it with other products you may not be sure what you are actually reacting to.

 Does it expire?

It is always advised to keep your finished products refrigerated in a closed jar. Usually, It should not be kept for more than two weeks even in the fridge. The shelf life of DIY skincare always varies.

If you’re not too sure of the products to put in your fridge, then maybe you should check out “What skin care products should be refrigerated”

Takeaway

Aloe vera is a source of natural treatment for different skin conditions. Including it in your skincare routine could really transform your skin.
